Alma is designed for seniors who want to live independently (around 65–80) and for their adult children (around 40–60) who want to stay connected without constant worry.
How is Alma different from ChatGPT?
ChatGPT is a general assistant. Alma is built specifically for seniors and families, with gentle care features, family overviews, EU data storage, a secure EU LLM (Mistral), and data that is never used to train AI.
Where is Alma data stored?
Alma stores data in Europe. Privacy and discretion are core to the product design.
Is there a pilot programme?
Yes. We are looking for seniors and families to test Alma, share needs, and help shape the best version. Join via the waitlist on this website.
How does Alma relate to loneliness and living alone?
In Belgium, a large share of older adults live alone. Alma offers everyday conversation, reminders and gentle connection so independence does not have to mean isolation.
Is Alma based on research?
Yes. Alma’s approach is grounded in Belgian and Flemish research on mental wellbeing, loneliness, ageing, dementia support and digital inclusion, from sources such as Statbel, Sciensano and the Vlaamse Ouderenraad.
